The pre-existing understanding of leadership revolves around it being a role of control over an organization and driving people towards the ‘profit’ vision.

However, the current shift in the fabric of professional relations and beginning of a new paradigm brings a lesser explored avenue of leadership which is less about the leader and more about the followers.

Forthcoming leadership personas are seeded in an all-encompassing and multi-dimensional intelligence that works towards attainment of “Unconditional Collaboration”.

Unconditional Collaboration stems from awareness towards physical, emotional, mental to the subconscious and unconscious aspects of environment that surrounds the individual and includes the ability to view the world as a collective society. It is primarily driven by the desire to leave a better world for the future generations and build a more inclusive place which supports each individual’s growth. With this intent the question that faces us is where does this road to craft and build oneself as a “Leader of Tomorrow” supporting “Unconditional Collaboration” start from? How to develop such leaders within?

Our study at Kognoz lead us to frame the below model –

    Develop leaders

Leadership that results in “Unconditional Collaboration” stems from openness to experiences and broadens the horizon of exposure and internal perspective of the individual. Elements of this model function in coordination as below –

    1. Exposure : People often refer to exposure as how well-versed a leader is with the profit aspect of the business. How focussed they are towards the “What” of organizational outlook, however, an individual is only to experience true exposure when they give due consideration to the world around them in terms of business, society and sustainability. Leaders of Tomorrow push through boundaries to understand and embrace the growing complexity of the world. They continue to enter untested waters to recognize the changing dynamics and adapt to the experiences.
    2. Un-learn : To exist in a time of high technological connectivity means having access to colossal resources which comes with the possibility of experiencing an overflow of information. This overflow often leads to individuals subconsciously forming mental blocks towards new information and developing resistance to the unknown. This resistance towards the continuous developments around translates to rigidity in body language and life perspectives as well. Parallelly, Leaders of Tomorrow identify their intellectual capacities and build themselves as long-term thinkers with an awareness of their scope of improvement and spheres unknown to them. They display values of humility and honest collaboration, are on a continuous path of active learning and work to empower the people around in pursuit of achieving a better tomorrow.
    3. Capability : Driving organizations with purpose is a capability that gets developed through practice and amalgamation of exposure and un-learning. This provides with new ways of working and solving dilemmas. To be able to continuously push oneself into a state of inquiry – is another capability that becomes crucial as one navigates through the ever-evolving landscape. It is in this space of inquiry that innovative solutions are born, enabling the ability to adapt, grow, and lead with resilience.

The new paradigm that we live in asks to adopt an ever-evolving outlook and openness to experiences to be able to thrive, and Unconditional Collaboration is how Leaders of Tomorrow achieve change in the pursuit of a better world.
